Our NPO was founded in 1981 and has greatly evolved throughout the years. It now offers additional innovative services to meet the needs of economic actors in the field. Each year, these actors support thousands of businesses in their start-up, development, and growth phases.
Montérégie Économique advises government departments, the Table de concertation régionale de la Montérégie and the Table des préfets et élus de la Couronne-Sud, and advances regional economic issues related to entrepreneurship, local and regional economic development, and talent attraction and retention.
Montérégie Économique represents, from 2020 to 2025, the Entente sectorielle en développement économique et de la main-d’œuvre* (Economic and labour development sector trade agreement), which allows identifying and implementing projects that benefit the entire region. It ensures action coordination and interdependence among different stakeholders by supporting the implementation of initiatives and activities aimed at promoting economic development and labour management in the Montérégie. The area’s strategic plan for economic and workforce development is being implemented through this agreement.
Montérégie Économique also represents the Espace régional d’accélération et de croissance de la Montérégie(Montérégie’s regional acceleration and growth area) and guides companies towards specialized business acceleration and support services through open innovation. In addition, it aims at sharing certain specialized services on the territory, all while stimulating collaboration and consultation. This initiative is made possible thanks to funding from MEI and MAMH.

Montérégie Économique is supported by a Board of Directors. The Board is composed of 15 Directors who represent each of the economic development services or organizations mandated by the 14 MRCs and the Agglomération de Longueuil.
